Question KTM 1090R Hard Offroad Wheelset & Tires??!?

Gents,
im on my 2nd R right now and this one is dedicated for offload use. I unfortunately bought a set of the very nice metzeler MC360 tires from overseas and after removing my tkc80's I noticed they are TUBE TYPE not tubeless! gah, so I threw on a set of VRM401 which I had on my prior 1190R and thought were the tires the bike should have come with stock as they are a good dual sport tire that work on road and is much better than the tkc80 in all offroad.

HOWEVER, I dont want but NEED full knobbies but really want the to be tubeless so I can fix punctures in the middle of nowhere. vs being SOL w a tube plus all the other benefits of tubeless. The Mitas e-09 is the most aggressive off road tire on the market im aware of but its still nothing close to a fully knobby.

going to a 1.8in front rim and a 1inch less rear would help a ton for rim protection and help the tire have more triangle shape profile than flat.
I just built a set of Woodys wheels and they are freaking 2200! I cant justify that for a set of wheels. If I could get over a grand for my set (only have 150miles so far and mint) id be able to stomach the difference but to cough up that after I already put 2500 in the rest of the bike

So any other good quality wheel choices for jumping the bike and hard use? advisable to just re-rim the current wheels?

thoughts?

thanks gents

those tires look very similar to the vrm401's im now running on the stock wheels. Do you mind sharing what you paid for the wheels and what width rims? Pics?

I've been through two sets of TKC 80's two Motoz rear one front. I have to travel highways to get to dirt. After reviewing the Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires, I pulled the trigger and just ordered a set for the KTM 1090 Adventure R. I hate the wobble of rail groves on cement highways. After reviews the mud maybe the trade off to the previous tires. The TKC's were great but mileage sucked. The Motoz's are great for mileage and dirt.

Please let us know how you like the Dunlops, I'm planning those for my next set. I'm over halfway done on a set of Shinko big blocks (804's) now and looking at my next direction. Honestly, I was planning on going back to the TKC's, or maybe the Motoz.
