Australian distributor MCCruise makes a plug and play cruise control for the 1190. Does anybody know if the CPU for the 1090 would be close to the same, that the cruise could be used in it as well? I live in the Midwest prairies, cruise sure is nice, after I trade my 1200 GS for a 1090. Not a deal breaker, but.....handy when riding with my hubby on his street bike which has cruise.

Yes it does work!

I received an email from Tony Guymer of MCCruise, confirming that their 1190 Cruise Control kit will also work on the 1090! He said to make a comment on the online order form that it is for a 1090.:grin2:

Cost for me in the US was roughly $515 shipped to the US. Anyone have details of their install yet? I opened the box and it was more wires/components than I was expecting. Haven’t started the install yet but want to do it soon. So if anyone has done it and can share photos/video I’d greatly appreciate it.

CC working yet?

KDE, do you have an update yet?

I just bought a 1090 R and one of the reasons I finally pulled the trigger on one was because CC was available
through MCCruise. My Tenere has cruise and hated to give that up.

Sorry, yes I do have an update and first have to thank Ladyknieval here too for helping me regain my courage to install it. Kit arrived and at first with all the wires I was freaked out. She help talk me off the ledge. Installed it last weekend and it was smooth sailing! Unfortunately I didn't have the time to film it, but just follow their instructions and everything goes right where it needs to and works just as you'd expect it to. I went with the low mount for the handlebar control and I'm glad I did there is plenty of room to get to the switches. They also now offer an updated below bar option which I have that plate ordered. Not sure if I'm going to move it there or not though since I'm a little concerned it might get damaged if the bike is dropped being down below the handlebar. So we'll see on that part.

Also they have updated it since Ladyknieval installed hers. I saw the pictures and at the time she did her install there was a rear wheel speed sensor required, this is no longer needed. They pickup directly from the CAN bus.

I'm with you on the decision to buy being based on this. I was considering an Africa Twin and one of the final things that pushed me over to the KTM was the availability of the cruise control. I have it on my Tiger 800 and use it all the time. Hopefully this helps, I will have some shots of the controller in my upcoming YouTube video but pretty basic, just showing the controller unit itself and talking about it. That will be a walk through of all the upgrades I've done so far.

Purchased the MCCruise from Australia and installed it in 3 hrs. Most of the work is taking the plastic and tank off, rest is plug and play. Results, wow it works great as designed just like a car. Very happy with the purchase and results, highly recommended. The reason for the 3 hr time to install was that it was the first time I took the tank off the bike. If had to do again, likely a 2 hour job. I also at the same time installed the Rottweiler's stage 3 air system. Wow what a difference in air intake and power delivery. rottweilerperformance

I've been running the MC cruise on my 2018 1090r for about 6 months. Wasn't to hard to install. Had great instructions and Customer Service was awesome. Works exactly like advertised, just like the cruise on my old Tenere. I highly recommend it
