1090r CO2 sensor delete

Hi all! This is my first post!

I have a 2018 1090R with 9000 miles on it. I read that deleting the O2 sensors from the exhausts can help to richen the mixture up low down in the revs.

My question is, has anyone else done this and how was the bike afterwards? I’ve done mine and apart from somehow being a bit louder and lots of popping from the exhaust, I actually feel as though I have less low down grunt than I did before.

I’m happy to go back to using the sensors but I was wondering if this “lean” state low down has bad side effects.

Additionally, is it possible to tune the stock ecu?

Thanks!!

Yes, it will have very bad side effects.
If you delete the O2 sensors, you need at the very least to add a set of fueling dongles to fool the ECU. They aren't expensive, maybe $50.
You can reprogram the stock ecu with a Power-commander.

Welcome!
