I had the 1190 factory heated grips installed on my 1090 before delivery and although they work, they don't seem to be as hot as they should be. Has anyone else had the same fitted and notice anything? Most people I know with factory heat grips always say they have to turn them down as theyre way to hot (on other brands), just want to know if anyone else with the 1090 or ktm has this problem.

Cheers.

I agree they don’t seem as hot as my Oxfords (on an old bike now sold), but I’ve found them to be plenty warm. Lowest temp has been enough for the freeze warning to be on for about a third of my 35 mile commute.

What grips are you running, the small diamond waffles or the thick 1190 ones? I think that might be part of my problem is my grips are thick dense rubber which takes a while to heat up. But not sure you can swap out grips on the elements or not.

When I picked up my bike on friday my hands were getting very hot. I realised the grips must be switched on and sure enough they were. They were only on the lowest setting but still uncomfortably warm but it was about 22 degrees (centigrade) that day. Mine are the ones with small slots in and and don't seem any fatter than the stock grips.
