Hello,
It all started with a casual email from a friend, four hours later I owned a 1090.
My introduction to V twins came through my V-Strom, which I bought as a winter ride and fell in love with it. For the last 20,000 miles, I've thoroughly enjoyed every mile on the V-Strom, but the milage is moving on and the improvements in motorcycles in general, say it is time to change.
Why the 1090? A good friend lent me his 1290, the handling was exactly what I wanted and the bike felt like I'd ridden it for years after just 10 miles. What I didn't like about the 1290 was the insurance quote and all the 1090s I looked at were the R with wire wheels. Then out of the blue came a super low mileage, standard 1090, so I'm now a member of the club.
Cheers Himself
