Hi 1090 Adventurers,
I just joined today and this is my first post here. I learnt to ride in India 15 years ago when I was 17. Took me a while to get my license in Germany. Afraid to hop on a big bore machine immediately I got myself a 650cc single cylinder. Two weeks ago I rode an 1150GS and ever since then my motorcycle feels like a bicycle to me.
Now I know how a fat boxer feels. I would love to test ride the 1090 Adventure (R). The raving reviews about the machine has made me consider it above many of the other competitions. Only a test ride remains.
If I were to decide for the KTM 1090 would you advice that I get the Adventure or the Adventure R? If the topic has already been discussed please do redirect me. Most of my searches only returned reviews of the Adventure R and no direct comparisons.
Mostly riding on asphalt but do not want to feel restricted if I were to hit the dirt in Europe or even in Africa. The specs seem more or less similar to me apart from the obvious suspension travel numbers. Would the Adventure with the optional Off Road addon do the job? For someone who isnt Chris Birch would the Adventure suffice or should I just get the Adventure R. I must admit, performance aside, I do like the black colour compared to the white.
Cheers and thanks guys.
